I received the Maono Studio Microphone Set, model number AU-A04 for my birthday in 2019. To state it simply, I am blown away by the quality, especially when compared to my webcam and Logitech G35 headset; which I had been using for all of my YouTube videos until I got this AU-A04.

The Maono Studio Microphone has been handled pretty gently, but all of its components and it's quality have survived the past three and a half years without any issues. The only complaint I have is with the boom arm, which requires a desk surface of at least a half inch to properly get the clamp to work. I currently have it mounted on a glass-top desk; which is far too thin for the clamp to work properly. My somewhat inelegant workaround for this problem was just to shove a bunch of cardboard in between the clamp and the desk to give it something to grab onto. It works well enough, having only needed to be adjusted once after moving it around pretty aggressively.

Unfortunately, the Maono AU-A04 studio microphone is manufactured in China; which is quite disgusting to think that the tax revenue earned by the Chinese government from its manufacture is being used to fund weapon development designed to kill American, Japanese, and Taiwanese soldiers, sailors, and airmen. However, despite the blood on the price tag, the Maono AU-A04 does offer superior quality at a very competitive price point. • AU-A04: This is what I have. It's just a microphone with a boom arm.
• AU-A04TC: This product features the microphone with a carrying case and a stand (if desk space is not an issue for you).
• AU-A04T: This model has the same microphone and stand, but without the carrying case.
• AU-A04TR: This is the cheapest model featuring the microphone with only a cheap tripod stand.

The AU-04 microphone itself is exactly the same across all of the model numbers listed above. Since I value desk space in my office; which often has 2 full size PCs, 4 or 5 monitors, a television, a Raspberry Pi project of some kind, a label printer, and a YooHoo or energy drink (I've been on a C4 kick lately); I was thrilled with the boom arm since it took up barely a square inch of desk space at the rear of my desk where I wouldn't have needed it anyway.

As mentioned, the quality of the AU-A04 is phenomenal at the price point. If you don't mind making a small tax donation to a communist state with sanctioned slavery trying to find new ways spying on American citizens of killing American troops and citizens who support democracy; then the Maono A04 Professional Studio Microphone might be perfect for you!
