The Signal story has been going on for a few days now. For the record, this was a colossal screw up that could have been SO much worse than it was. However, I didn't want to comment about it until there was more information. Then, sometime yesterday, the Atlantic reporter released the entire transcript. I've taken the liberty of hosting the screenshots here at the bottom of the page and transcribing them to make them easier to read.

Okay, as horrible as this screw up is, I was actually pretty excited to be able to read a candid conversation between the highest ranking officials in the Administration. It's like a script for West Wing only it's 100% real.

What's most impressive about this is how strong this group's teamwork is. Keep in mind that Marco Rubio and J.D. Vance might be locked in a heated Presidential primary in 2028, but there's no hint of rivalry in the team. President Trump often gets accused of only accepting "Yes Men", but Vice-President Vance clearly feels enough freedom in his position to speak his mind and offer an opinion that is contrary to the recently signed Executive Order and the Secretary of Defense; which shows him as being less than totally gung-ho in a documented chat that included Rubio.

In fact, it's quite the opposite of a rivalry. These leaders sound like friends and collaborators. I have chats just like these, only without the national security elements, with my political friends and KTracy.com collaborators all of the time. It's refreshing to see that these are real people that seem legitimately interested in doing exactly what Trump said: putting America First.

Also, I absolutely LOVE that J.D. Vance is involved in this conversation. The Vice-President is a very ceremonial role, but his inclusion in this chat shows that he, like former Vice-President Mike Pence in the first Trump Administration, wields a significant amount of influence in this Trump Administration. I think this is just more evidence pointing to this 4-year term being On The Job Training for Vance to be the heir apparent to Donald Trump.

This chat is really just neat to see, even though I would still prefer not to have seen it because the chat wasn't leaked by a reporter that never should have been in this chat. I'll write more about the concerns I have about this Signal chat sometime soon. In the meantime, I want to at least make sure everyone who reads my website stops to appreciate just how awesome this Administration is. I love this atmosphere that Trump has created behind the veil of encrypted messaging.
