After Donald Trump's historic victory in the 2024 election, many different companies began walking back their woke corporate policies. Among those companies were Meta (owner of Facebook and Instagram), which had previously conspired with Democrats and their allies in the deep state to shadow ban conservatives and prevent certain news stories about scandalous behavior from Democrats from going viral. Additionally, Twitter has been bought and paid for by Elon Musk; who has transformed it into X. While the Democrats running Google and Apple managed to ban the conservative social media platform Parler in 2021, Donald Trump managed to replace it with his Truth Social platform. It would be forgivable for someone to believe "free speech has won the day" in light of all of these victories.

Indeed, the day is won, but the battle is not won. In fact, the battle to keep our freedoms will never end because tyrants are everywhere! Right now, the overwhelming victory of the Trump campaign in November 2024 has frightened the stockholders of many of these companies that a year ago appeared to be doubling down on DEI and woke censorship. As a result, they capitulated. However, Democrats and progressives have shown their hand and make no mistake that woke policies are not dead, even if Democrats eventually begin to self moderate and appear to come back to the center. They are still trying to socially engineer our culture to their woke ideals and the censorship of our speech, public and private actions, and even our thoughts will creep back in more insidious, clandestine, ways. The mistakes Democrats made was that they moved too fast, too soon. Make no mistake, the people pushing this will learn from this mistake when they try again, and stopping it will be even more difficult the next time it comes back.

And yes, social media companies and the entire tech industry are eager to try woke again when the backlash dies down.

For a long time, KTracy.com has been trying to warn everyone that in order to protect YOUR free speech, you're better off investing in your own personal website (like this one) rather than on social media platforms that can shadow ban, demonetize, and delete all of your years of content in a heart beat. My fanaticism on this point has not changed. You need to start your own website to host your content. I'm not saying you need to get rid of social media all together (you SHOULD give up Social Media entirely though), but you need a place to at least archive your social media content that isn't dependent on a social media site monetizing your content for themselves or a cloud service that hosts your data on servers you don't own; both of which can and will delete everything on a whim if they don't like what you're serving when progressives try resurrecting woke in the near future. Don't just rely on X and Elon Musk or Truth Social and Donald Trump. We saw conservative and free-speech friendly social media services destroyed before, like Parler.

Develop your own website and back it up frequently on your own hard drives in case you are ever hacked (like we were in 2010) or if your hosting service de-platforms you. With a local back up, you'll easily be able to relaunch your website on a different hosting service, or host your own light weight website on a homemade server.

Wokeness will return. Be prepared by having your own website ready to go!
