Haley Reports Incredible January Fundraising Numbers (and that's misleading)
Axios is reporting that Nikki Haley raised more money in January 2024 than she did in all of 2023 Q4 (October, November, and December) combined!
The headline and story make you think, "Hmm, maybe she does have a chance because people wouldn't throw their money away if Haley's campaign was a lost cause." Yet, a lot happened in January.
When Ron DeSantis dropped out of the race after the Iowa Caucuses, Republicans who didn't want Trump FINALLY got what they wanted: a single candidate to rally around. It was Nikki Haley and, if I had to guess, the vast majority of Nikki Haley's January fundraising haul came in after DeSantis dropped out and before she lost the New Hampshire to Donald Trump. As I said in January 2024, the New Hampshire Primary was Nikki Haley's Last Chance to Stop Trump. I suspect Nikki Haley saved a lot of this January money so she can spend it slowly as she draws out her campaign since there's very little chance she's going to win a state unless Donald Trump goes to jail.
Erin Doherty, who wrote the article for Axios, likely knows this all too well and is likely just trying to weaken Trump's support among Republicans considering voting for him after Joe Biden's ineptitude brought chaos to the world.
