Back in early 2021, Kevin Tracy searched his name in several popular search engines. He found KTracy.com in the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th pages of results. Infuriated, he called a meeting to discuss the problem. The consensus was that despite offering incredible content, KTracy.com had always performed significantly better before adopting WordPress as its Content Management System. In March, Kevin Tracy shut down the WordPress site and work began developing the current version of KTracy.com you see before you today. We have maintained for a while that this site is a work in progress. However, that progress is starting to manifest in results.

In all major search engines, searching for "Kevin Tracy" once again brings KTracy.com up in the first page of results!

While a cause to celebrate, we still have work to do to get back to where we used to be:

The real Kevin Tracy, our Kevin Tracy, and KTracy.com held this position from 2004 until 2015. After 2015, our ranking began to slip as WordPress got slower and slower with each update. Kevin Tracy and the KTracy.com Staff are in agreement now more than ever that WordPress was the worst thing ever for our Search Engine Optimization (SEO) despite all of the add-ons that supposedly help SEO.

What is most shocking for us is that our website has seen such an enormous ranking boost despite not being optimized for mobile devices. Kevin Tracy wanted to get KTracy.com optimized for full screen devices first. This process is ongoing as SEO improvements are continuing at KTracy.com as we attempt to address and reconcile accessibility and code issues that may still be holding us back. Once we feel like we have tackled most of those issues, we're going to begin developing the mobile experience a bit more aggressively. Once that happens, we should be in a very dominant position.

One thing that particularly annoys Kevin Tracy is that he actually is the first or second result for "Kevin Tracy" in all of these search engines. The problem are the losers who are misspelling the name "Kevin Tracey" with an "E" in Tracy. It is so unbelievably ignorant of Google, DuckDuckGo, Yahoo, and others to allow anyone spelling their name "Tracey" to appear anywhere in search results! They should be banned from search results entirely!
